Reproduction of electro physiological correlates of defensive conditioned reflex after electro convulsive effect

Reproduction of electro physiological correlates of defensive conditioned reflex after electro convulsive effect

Zhurnal Vysshei Nervnoi Deyatel'nosti Imeni Ivlova. 25(6): 1211-1217

Acute and chronic experiments on cats showed the possibility of obtaining in 1 session conditioned EEG responses, autonomic changes and conditioned motor reactions time-locked to the moment of the unconditioned pain stimulation omitted during testing. Electro-convulsive stimulation directly after elaboration prevented the appearance of conditioned motor reactions, while conditioned EEG and autonomic changes were retained after electric seizures. The emotional component of conditioned reactions is apparently not subjected to the amnestic effect of electroconvulsive action.
