Researches on the performance of the grape variety feteasca regala on various types of soil in the blaj viticultural area romania

Lucrari Stiintifice Institutul Agronomic "Nicolae Balcescu" Horticultura 29: 113-119

The paper presents some aspects of the performance of the grape variety Feteasca regala on various soils (typical eumezobasic brown soils, molic eumezobasic brown soils, clinohydromorphous black soils and pseudorendzina regosols) in terms of the amount and quality of the yield. The effect of the type of soil on wine quality is also shown. The performance of this grape cultivar was very good on eumezobasic brown soils (typical and molic). On pseudorendzina regosols and on clinohydromorphous black soils (whose drainage was rather good and thus the unfavorable air and water regime was improved) the yield was lower.
