Risk of paucibacillary leprosy patients released from control relapsing with multibacillary leprosy

Paucibacillary patients (51) who had relapsed after cessation of dapsone monotherapy were studied. Among the 51 relapses, the lepromin-negative group had a significantly higher risk of relapsing with multibacillary leprosy compared with the lepromin-positive group of patients. The significance of these findings is discussed.
