Role of lipid per oxidation in uv inactivation of membrane proteins

Role of lipid per oxidation in uv inactivation of membrane proteins

Vyestsi Akademii Navuk BSSR Syeryya Biyalahichnykh Navuk (3): 65-69

The UV-inactivation of [micrococcus luteus] membraneous proteins involves lipid peroxidation products. This follows from a deviation of the photoinactivation process from the one-hit law, from a higher efficiency of intermittent irradiation in comparison with the continuous one and from the dependence of the enzyme photosensitivity on the oxygen content in the medium.
