Scanning electron microscopic study of thoracic morphology of worker ants of the group formica rufa note 2

Bulletin de la Societe d'Histoire Naturelle de Toulouse 112(3-4): 314-326

The morphological structure of the F. rufa worker was examined. The Pyrenean [Pyrenee-Mountains, France] species of the group may be distinguished: F. nigricans-cordieri, F. lugubris, F. rufa, F. aquilonia and F. polyctena. The prothorax was studied in both dorsal and lateral views.
