Selecting a method for the quantitative determination of bacteria in nonsterile drugs
Various methods for the quantitative determination of bacteria in nonsterile drugs were studied comparatively. The following drugs were considered: cholenzyme, rutin, sennin, divascan and thyroidin tablets and buckthorn extract. The effectivness of the methods was determined as a function of the cultural and morphological characteristics of contaminating bacteria. The bilayer agar method and test tube method of the most probable numbers were recommended.
