Hybridization of local varieties and forms of soft wheat of Georgia (USSR) (Khulugo, Doli 35-4, Tbilisuri 5, etc.) with varieties of Persicum (Dika 9/14) and hard wheat (Cerullescence 19/28), as well as an individual 5-fold selection from F2 out of the lines obtained from progeny of separate sowing of the best spikes resulted in development of short-straw constant forms of soft wheat with higher productivity. Plant height was 64-80 cm and grains per ear 55-60 (straw), the mass of grains per ear equalled 2.3-2.9 g straw and 1000 grain weight was 49-58 g.
