The article deals with the selenium and lipid peroxides concentrations and the glutathione peroxidase activity in blood in children aged 15 years suffering from the syndrome of secondary malabsorption. The authors stated that the element concentration and the activity GSH-Px as well has been a statistically significant lower one as compared with a group of healthy children of same age. The lipid peroxide concentration was increased by 12% at the moment of diagnosis; statistically significant differences could not be proved during following months.
