Serum cholesterol level during different phases of pregnancy in muzaffarnagri sheep

The lower and upper limits of serum cholesterol were 59 and 350 mg/100 ml of serum of Muzaffarnagri sheep during different phases of pregnancy. The average cholesterol level (mg/100 ml of serum) was 193.00 .+-. 10.08, 203.08 .+-. 11.68, 210.00 .+-. 11.98, 213.30 .+-. 10.40 and 232.50 .+-. 9.99 in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th month of pregnancy respectively. The increasing trend in serum cholesterol was observed with the advancement in the stage of pregnancy. Serum cholesterol level at the 5th month of pregnancy was significantly (P < 0.05) higher than in 1st and 2nd month of pregnancy.
