Abstract
Data are presented on the distribution of 13 new and 11 rare species in the flora of the Mordovia ASSR. Three areas of typical northern steppe associations were observed. These areas require protection as botanical reserves. [The new records are as follows: Leersia oryzoides, Sagina nodosa, Sisymbrium volgense, Potentilla bifurca, P. supina, Salvia tesquicola, Cyclochaena xanthifolia, Salsola collina, Corispermum hyssopifolium, Zannichellia palustris and Cypripedium guttatum.].
