A comparative analysis of kinetic schemes describing the combined inhibition of acetyl- and butyrylcholinesterases by organophosphorus inhibitors was performed. Examination of more than 200 experimentally determined inhibition constants revealed a linear relationship between the constants relevant to the reversible and irreversible action of these compounds.
