Spatial and temporal aspects of colonial nesting of white pelicans (P. erythrorhynchus) at Gunnison Island, Utah, USA were studied. Observations on nest density, nest location and colony establishment are presented. Mortality of eggs and chicks are discussed. Abandonment of the nest was correlated with its location in the colony.
