Specifics of rat hepatocyte growth in primary culture and diffusion chambers after administration of di ethyl nitrosamine
Morphological and histochemical properties of cultivated rat hepatocytes isolated from the liver in different periods of hepatocarcinogenesis were studied in primary culture and diffusion chambers. The colony-forming ability of transformed hepatocytes was also characterized. The proliferating monolayer is formed in the diffusion chambers exclusively when hepatocytes were separated from a hyperplastic liver after previous hepatectomy. The hepatocytes separated from the rat liver at the late stages of hepatocarcinogenesis were more viable both in the primary culture and in the diffusion chamber cultures.
