, : Specifics of the reproductive system in epinephelus aeneus and epinephelus alexandrinus serranidae from the southeastern mediterranean. Voprosy Ikhtiologii 24(4): 597-600

Data were presented on gonad structure, maturity stages and fecundity in E. aeneus and E. alexandrinus. Both species first function as females, then ovary reversion to testes occurs. E. aeneus fecundity increased along with an increase in fish length and wt [weight]. E. alexandrinus fecundity decreased with fish growth.
