Spectral estimates of bioelectric microphonic potentials and action potentials of the [guinea pig] cochlea were determined. Apparently, spectral characteristics of these potentials are different and enable a diagnostic classification to be made. A nonlinear dependence of the effective width of the energy spectrum on the acoustic signal intensity confirms the existence of the auditory feedback.
