A comprehensive analysis of the gonadotropic function of the hypophysis was performed in A. gueldenstaedti and A. stellatus after administration of various preparations of sturgeon hypophysis. Differences were revealed in the state of hypophyseal gonadotropocytes and in the dynamics of gonadotropic hormone during maturation, caused by the administration of a suspension of acetone-treated hypophyses, a glycerine preparation of hypophyeses and purified sturgeon gonadotropin.
