Studies in the bionomics of trioxys indicus hymenoptera aphidiidae a parasitoid of aphis craccivora hemiptera homoptera aphididae the area of discovery of the parasitoid

The area of discovery of the parasitoid, T. (Binodoxys) indicus was calculated applying 2 different models. The parasitoid shows a higher searching efficiency at higher host densities and higher mutual interference at lower host densities. The 1st response enables parasitoids to reproduce more rapidly at higher host densities and the 2nd helps the parasitoids in its dispersal which favors the spread of the area of interactions. T. (B.) indicus may be an ideal biocontrol agent for suppression of A. craccivora population.
