Studies on germination of sandal santalum album pre treatment of sandal seeds



Indian Forester 107(6): 348-354



S. album Linn. seeds were pre-conditioned to increase the rate and percentage or germination and bring down the dormancy period. Seeds were treated with hot and cold water and subjected to mechanical (seed coat removal) and chemical (alcohol and H2SO4) scarification. Percentage of germination increased and dormancy period was shortened by acid scarification.
