The dose effect of 5B and 3D chromosomes on the meiotic behavior and chromosome pairing in F1 hybrids of T. aestivum (cv. Chinese Spring) with T. timopheevii and T. zhukovskyi was studied. The effect of these chromosomes, depending on their doses was manifested also in the hybrids of 'Chinese Spring' with T. timopheevii and T. zhukovskyi. Genetic systems were established in the 5B chromosome of T. timopheevii and T. zhukovskyi which have an effect on chromosome pairing similar to that of the aestivum ('Chinese Spring') 5B chromosome, but expressed in a lesser degree. The effect of 5B system in hybrids of 'Chinese Spring' and of its aneuploid lines of 5B chromosome with T. zhukovskyi was modified by the action of 5A chromosome and depended on the 5A:5B chromosome ratio in the genome of the hybrids.
