Studies on the inheritance of quantitative characters in rice 7. analysis days to heading in diallel crosses of f 1 and f 2 and generations

In order to get the information about the inheritance of days from sowing to heading which will be utilized to the breeding programs, nine parental varieties were used for diallel analysis consisting of 36 crosses of F1 and F2 generations. The degree of heterobeltiosis was -5.4% for F1 and 0.4% for F2 toward late heading as dominance. The GCA and SCA for days from sowing to heading was highly significant and the value of GCA was greater than that of SCA. The gene effect related to the degree of dominance for F1 generation to the days from sowing to heading was over dominance and F2 generation was incomplete dominance. The gene actions to the days from sowing to heading in F1 and F2 generations were significant to additive gene effect and non-additive gene effect.
