A relation between L type of the trisomics and the linkage groups is examined. The trisomic method is recognized as the most useful for the test of independence in linkage groups. Three linkage groups, VI, IX and XII, are thought to be combined into 1 group, though the possibility that group XII is divided into 2 groups cannot be excluded, as this group consists of 2 loosely linked genes (gl and An) with the recombination value of 39.5%. I-Bf, which was thought to belong to linkage group V, was included in group VII (Iwata and Omura 1975). Thus, 12 linkage groups established by Nagao and Takahashi are probably reduced to 9 or 10.
