The seasonal growth of orchardgrass at Obihiro [Japan] was observed using the growth analysis method, with 3 cuttings/season. The general system of 3 cuttings in 1 season at Obihiro, 1st cutting at heading stage in early June, 2nd cutting in early Aug. and 3rd cutting at mid or late Sept. gives optimal results, considering seasonal trend of tiller numbers, growth and productive structure of swards, production of animal nutrients.
