Study on the lepturine genus pidonia coleoptera cerambycidae 1

Study on the lepturine genus pidonia coleoptera cerambycidae 1

Kontyu 49(4): 525-541

General characters of the lepturine genus Pidonia are described. A key to 6 subgenera including a new subgenus is presented. The distributional ranges of subgenera are clarified, respectively. The P. insuturata group [P. insuturata, P. hayashii, P. hamadryas, P. masakii, P. hylophia, P. dealbata sp. nov., P. simillima] is taxonomically reviewed and one new species of this group is described. The difference in distributional patterns among species is discussed from the viewpoint of vertical distributional zonation.
