Study on the limitation of the experimental myo cardial ischemia appropriate heart rate and arterial pressure level selected by orthogonal design method

Experiments (27) were carried out on open-chest dogs whose left anterior descending coronary artery was occluded. The appropriate heart rate and arterial pressure level necessary to limit the degree of myocardial ischemia were examined within an orthogonal design. Apparently, a change of 20% heart rate is more effective than that of 10% arterial pressure in limitation of ischemic size. The combination of 2 factors, i.e., 20% decrease of heart rate and 10% elevation of arterial pressure level, is effective in limitation of the myocardial ischemia size.
