Survey of cases of canine dioctophymosis in brazil with a record of the case of highest intensity of infection by dioctophymea renale

All cases of canine dioctophymosis described in Brazil were collected. A case where highest intensity of infection by D. renale in Canis familiaris (L.), in which 8 helminths were found was described. From these, 3 males were recovered from the body cavity and 1 male and 4 females from the right kidney. All data related to the 30 cases recorded in the literature, were assembled and mapped to show the recorded geographical distribution of this helminth in Brazil.
