Systematic position of the genus garantella foraminifera

Systematic position of the genus garantella foraminifera

Paleontologicheskii Zhurnal (4): 124-128

The position and shape of the stoma and stomal plates were studied in Garantella spp., thus improving the description of the type species and the diagnosis of the genus. Comparative data are presented on the diagnosis and species composition of Garantella Kaptarenko-Chernousova, 1956, and on the morphology, size and distribution of its type species G. rudia Kaptarenko-Chernousova. Garantella probably belongs to Ceratobuliminidae, subfamily Reinholdellinae.
