Systematic revision of west palearctic tingidae part 1 note on agramma and creation of magmara alticeps new genus new combination hemiptera heteroptera

, : Systematic revision of west palearctic tingidae part 1 note on agramma and creation of magmara alticeps new genus new combination hemiptera heteroptera. Annales de la Societe Entomologique de France 13(2): 315-332

This paper deals with systematics of the genus Agramma, mainly for west-palaearctic representatives. After some remarks concerning brachypterism, the value of the subgeneric sections created by Wagner (1941) are discussed and none of them are retained. Based on study of typical materials and other series, the status of different taxa at specific and infraspecific levels are discussed. No definitive solutions are proposed for the more puzzling groups of species, i.e., the laetum-complex and femorale-complex. The following nomenclaturial changes are proposed: A. umbrosum (Horv.) is a new synonym of A. dubium (Horv.) which is reduced to a subspecies of A. nigrum (Fieber) [A. n. dubium, stat. nov.]; A. gracilicorne Wagner is a new synonym of A. ruficorne (Germar); A. alticeps Wagner, described from Israel some years ago, is raised to the rank of a new genus, Magmara. A number of lectotypes are designated.
