E. blanchardi (Trouessart) is rediagnosed and illustrated, and a lectotye female selected. The male, female and deutonymph of E. confucianus (Hirst) are redescribed and illustrated. Host and geographic distributions are given for both species [Switzerland, Austria. Marmota marmota for E. blanchardi; China, Manchuria, USSR. Myospalax Fontanieri, M. myospalax and M. psilurus for E. confucianus]. E. b. asiaticus is considered a nom. nud.
