Systematics of the anglerfishes of the genus ceratias

, : Systematics of the anglerfishes of the genus ceratias. Biologiya Morya (Vladivostok) (5): 32-39

In the genus Ceratias two valid species are recognized. Ceratias holboelli Kroyer, 1845 and C. tentaculatus Norman, 1930. These species differ in escal morphology, the size of caruncles (adolescent females), squamation pattern (large specimens), and geographical distribution. The diagnosis of the genus and descriptions of the species are given. An identification key to the species is also provided.
