Taxonomy and nomenclature of some tetra ploid festuca species from the festuca ovina group poaceae in the central latitudes of europe

Taxonomy and nomenclature of some tetra ploid festuca species from the festuca ovina group poaceae in the central latitudes of europe

Bulletin du Jardin Botanique National de Belgique 47(1-2): 99-116

A detailed discussion of the variability and taxonomic position of the Festuca ovina group appearing in the eastern part of the province of Liege (Belgium) and in adjacent regions is presented. Tetraploid plants are distinguished from the diploid F. ovina. A new subspecies is recognized, F. ophioliticola ssp. calaminaria. The following changes in status are made: F. ophioliticola ssp. hirtula comb. et stat. nov. (F. ovina var. capillata subvar. hirtula Hack.) and F. ophioliticola ssp. armoricana comb. et stat. nov. (F. armoricana Kerguelen).
