The action of antithymocyte serum on tumor growth and metatasis was investigated by using an experimental model of lymphatic metastasis after injection of murine uterine cervix carcinoma No.27 (U27) cells into the footpad of mice. The growth and metastasis of U27 were enhanced by the antithymocyte serum. The facilitation of growth and metastasis of U27 by the antithymocyte serum might be related to the depletion of lymphocyte (especially T-lymphocyte) and the inhibition of T-lymphocyte activity.
