Abstract
The four Frullania species differ in their associate flora which can be used as a characteristic of their habitat. The arrangement of the releves according to their floristic composition shows no correlation with their geographical position. This may indicate that meso- and microclimatic conditions are as important as the macroclimate for the occurrence of bryophytes and the development of moss communities.
