The biology of the leafhopper empoasca kraemeri on bean phaseolus vulgaris and cowpea vigna sinensis plants

The biology of the leafhopper empoasca kraemeri on bean phaseolus vulgaris and cowpea vigna sinensis plants

Anais da Sociedade Entomologica do Brasil 8(1): 93-102

The biology of the leafhopper E. kraemeri was studied on bean, IPA-7419 variety and cow-pea, Pitiuba variety. The work was done under laboratory conditions at 27 .+-. 1.degree. C, 70 .+-. 10% R.H. [relative humidity] and a 12 h photoperiod. Duration and viability of the nymphal phase, sex-ratio, longevity of the males and females, incubation period, pre-oviposition period, oviposition period, total of eggs layed per female and daily oviposition rate were determined on both hosts plants. The biology of E. kraemeri was similar on both hosts studied.
