The effect of heating of asellus aquaticus ova within the whole organism system on heat resistance of the progeny

The effect of heating of asellus aquaticus ova within the whole organism system on heat resistance of the progeny

Tsitologiya 29(5): 603-606

Using female siblings of single parental pairs of Asellus aquaticus, a study was made of the effect of heating of the ova on the progeny organismal heat resistance. An increased heat resistance level of the organism was observed only in F1, whereas in F2 it did not differ from that of the control (non-heated) animals. It is concluded that changes in the heat resistance level of the organism in F1 observed in animals previously exposed to heat at the stage of non-fertilized ova are of modificatory nature.
