The bacteria studied and their culture supernatant fluids affected the growth of pine seedlings. Inhibition of root elongation was the most visible effect of this action. The extent of root inhibition depended on the dilution of culture filtrates in the plant growth medium and on the strain's feature. Auxins extracted from the culture supernatant fluids and pure IAA affected pine seedlings growth in a similar way.
