The effect of rye and repco green manure on the growth and reproductive performances of plum trees

The effect of rye and repco green manure on the reproductive and growth performances of plum trees cvs Stanley and Strinava was studied in 1979-1986. Green manuring with rye inhibited the growth performances of plum trees, but repco green manure had a favourable effect on yearly growth and trunk enlargement of cv. Strinava plum trees. Rye and repco green manure had a positive effect on the amount of plum tree fruit crop. The yield of cv. Skrinava increased 45% in the case of repco green manuring. Green manure of rye and repco is economically effective in plum production. It increases the net profit and the rate of profitableness. This is more obvious in the case of repco.
