The effect of specific inhibitors of rna and protein biosynthesis on energy migration in pea pisum sativum chloroplasts

The low-temperature (77.degree. K) fluorescence spectra and fluorecence excitation spectra in leaves of pea seedlings treated with specific inhibitors of RNA and protein biosynthesis during formation of the system of native forms of chlorophyll were investigated. Inhibition of transcription in plastids and translation on cytoplasmic or chloroplast ribosomes leads to to disturbance of donor-acceptor relations between native forms of chlorophyll in processes of energy migration. Establishment of the chloroplast pigment apparatus as a system for absorption and concentration of light energy is directly dependent upon processes involved in the realization of genetic information.
