The functional activity state of the thyroid gland in cancer of the larynx in the course of radiation therapy


, : The functional activity state of the thyroid gland in cancer of the larynx in the course of radiation therapy. Soobshcheniya Akademii Nauk Gruzinskoi SSR 116(1): 161-164

The function of the thyroid gland in larynx cancer was lowered, depending on the diffusion of tumor process. Radiation therapy at 60 g dose lowered the thyroid gland function, whereas a renewed growth of the tumor was attended by a pronounced diminishment of the thyroid gland function. The change of the functioned state of the thyroid gland in the course of larynx cancer treatment predicted the outcome of the treatment.
