The fungus paecilomyces farinosus deuteromycetes a study on conditions of its use for the control of the colorado beetle

, : The fungus paecilomyces farinosus deuteromycetes a study on conditions of its use for the control of the colorado beetle. Zeitschrift fuer Angewandte Entomologie 87(1): 68-75

The effect of P. farinosus on the Colorado beetle was similar to or better than that of other Deuteromycetes used for the control of Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say. A concentration of 4.1 .times. 107 conidiospores suspended in 1 ml water was effective, depending on the instar and the age of the larvae. All larval stages of the Colorado beetle were susceptible to this concentration of the biopreparation and differences were only in the duration of the infection from the time of exposure to death. The fungus preparation was satisfactory and chemical insecticides and other synergistic factors were unnecessary.
