Trabutia possesses unitunicate asci and must be removed from the Loculoascomycetes. The characteristics of biotrophic habit, centrum of thin-walled asci at maturity among paraphyses, and pycnidial anamorph dictate its disposition in the Phyllachoraceae of the Phyllachorales.
