, : The lower miocene flora from safov in southern moravia czechoslovakia. Vestnik Ustredniho Ustavu Geologickeho 53(3): 153-162

The flora from Safov made the characterization of a plant association typical of Miocene brown-coal bogs in the Carpathian Fordeep in South Moravia [Czechoslovakia]. Several plant associations were distinguished, such as the aquatic association (Salvinia, Azolla, Nymphaea, Potamogeton, Stratiotes), the association of the inundated shore (Typha, Cladium, Cladiocarya) and the association of marshy forests and/or brown-coal bogs (Glyptostrobus, Hartziella, Decodon, Sambucus, Myrica). The following species were described: Nymphaea szaferi sp. nov., Kadsura moravica Mai sp. nov., Cladium oligovasculare Mai sp. nov., Cladiocarya lusatica Mai sp. nov. and Potamogeton safovicum sp. nov.
