The lumbricidae oligochaeta in the archipelago of aland southwestern finland

, : The lumbricidae oligochaeta in the archipelago of aland southwestern finland. Memoranda Societatis pro Fauna et Flora Fennica 55(1): 17-31

Distribution and ecology of the Lumbricidae in the archipelago of Aland was studied during 1970-1978 by sampling different kinds of habitats. The most interesting faunistic records were that of Allolobophora longa Ude, pink and green color forms of A. chlorotica (Sav.), Eisenia fetida (Sav.), A. rosea (Sav.), Eiseniella tetraedra (Sav.) f. hercynia (Michaelsen) and E. tetraeda f. popi Zicsi, Dendrobaena rubida (Sav.) f. typica, D. rubida f. subrubicunda (Eisen), D. rubida f. tenuis (Eisen) and Lumbricus castaneus (Sav.). Altogether, 12 Lumbricidae species were recorded in the study area. Possible dispersal and occurrence of the species in different habitats are discussed. The pH range of habitat the species in Aland is given. [Other species described were A. caliginosa (Sav.), Octolasion lacteum Orley, D. octaedra (Sav.), L. rubellus Hoffm. and L. terrestris L.].
