The luminescence properties of pesticides part 3 the fluorescence lifetimes of some carbamates
The fluorescence lifetimes, .tau.f, of Phenmec, Metacrate, Matacil, Landrin, Sevin and Zectran were recorded using single photon counting techniques. The .tau.f values of these molecules vary by 2 orders of magnitude but the fluorescnece yields vary by a factor of 4; thus, nonradiative processes have varying degrees of importance in the carbamates. The carbamates do not follow any readily discernible Hammett relationship.
