The lycoteuthid genus oregoniateuthis a synonym of lycoteuthis cephalopoda teuthoidea

, : The lycoteuthid genus oregoniateuthis a synonym of lycoteuthis cephalopoda teuthoidea. Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington 96(3): 365-369

Oregoniateuthis Voss, 1956 is placed in synonymy with Lycoteuthis Pfeffer, 1900. Based on new records, O. springeri Voss, 1956 is shown to be conspecific with L. diadema (Chun, 1900) and is placed in synonymy. The type of L. lorigera (Steenstrup, 1875) is shown to be a male. Sexual dimorphism in the family Lycoteuthidae is discussed.
