The lymphocyte cytoplasmic refractive index in rheumatoid arthritis

, : The lymphocyte cytoplasmic refractive index in rheumatoid arthritis. Journal of Clinical Hematology and Oncology 6(4): 109-112

The refractive index of the cytoplasm (LCRI) of circulating blood lymphocytes [a parameter of immunological activity] was measured in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis. The LCRI was significantly raised in such patients, but the degree of elevation was not related to the clinically estimated activity of the disease or the erythrocyte sedimentation rate, nor was it apparently affected by immunosuppressant therapy.
