The modified general aptitude test battery manual dexterity as a measure of recovery from general anesthesia

The modified general aptitude test battery manual dexterity as a measure of recovery from general anesthesia

Perceptual & Motor Skills 56(2): 451-458

Patients (23) were evaluated following surgery under general anesthesia with enflurane or halothane. Data on the M [manual dexterity] tests of the modified GATB [General Aptitude Test Battery] gave significant differences 1 1/2, 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 h after the end of the period of anesthesia when compared with the baseline. The performance of a control group shows lack of reliability of this form of the test.
