A comparative study was conducted of the morphology and morphogenesis of intestinal epithelial tumors induced by treatment iwth 1,2-dimethylhydrazine in over 2000 rats and 1415 polypoid lesions in the human colon and rectum. Histologic and cytologic changes were noted and these were discussed in relation to early detection.
