A study of the rate of spontaneous development of neoplasms and their pathomorphological characteristics in SJL/J mice indicated a systemic process analogous to reticulocellular lymphogranulomatosis (Hodgkin's disease) in humans with an incidence of 83.3% in females and 75.0% in males. The frequency of appearance of neoplasms in other localizations is comparatively low. Males manifested adenoma of the cymba conchae and females cancer of the mammary gland and pulmonary adenoma. More than 50% of the SJL/J mice died from general amyloidosis, the development of which was noted as early as the 4th mo. of age.
