5-Hydroxytryptamine [5HT; 10 nmol] increased the amplitude and facilitation of the EJP [excitatory junctional potential] in Eupagurus bernhardus. 5HT changed the EJP from a single transient depolarization to multiple depolarizations. These actions of 5HT are probably presynaptic.
