The prevalence of hepatitis b surface antigen among students and blood donors at the american university of beirut lebanon

, : The prevalence of hepatitis b surface antigen among students and blood donors at the american university of beirut lebanon. Johns Hopkins Medical Journal 139: 45-48

HBsAg testing by CEP [counterimmunoelectrophoresis] was performed on 2359 students and 6153 blood donors at the American University of Beirut [Lebanon]. No significant difference existed in the prevalence rates among the various socioeconomic groups of the Arab Asians tested. There was, however, a definite difference among the various geographic groups. Socioeconomic factors do not satisfactorily explain the differences in the prevalence rates among various nationals.

Reciprocal signals from embryonic and extra-embryonic tissues pattern the embryo in proximal–distal (PD) and anterior–posterior (AP) fashion. Here we have analyzed three gene trap mutations of Sall4, of which one (Sall4-1a) led...

A genetic tool for introducing marker-free deletions is essential for multiple manipulations of genomes. We have developed a simple and efficient method for creating marker-free deletion mutants of Bacillus subtilis through transformation with rec...
